What To Expect

Your first appointment is primarily an information gathering session in order for me to learn about you and your history. Your story is your own personal story and the only person who can tell your story is you. You are your own expert.

This initial session which will last 50 mins and if you decide to go ahead with further sessions, this is the length of time each one will last. Your first appointment is an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have. I will reflect on what you have said, find out what you would like to achieve and help you find a greater sense of balance and contentment in your life.

I am curious about the underlying emotions and beliefs that shape our relationships and motivate behavior. I hope to dispel the fear that meaningful change is impossible and together we can explore new ways for you to relate to yourself and to others.

Therapy is about you. There is no right way to do it. It is exactly what it is.

“Nikki is very easy to talk to and offered knowledgable strategies to help me cope better. We worked together on changing some of the old learned behaviours that have been causing me so much difficulty. She has made me more aware of the way I think about relationships and more importantly the relationship with myself. I am very grateful.”
